Vietnamese Women vs. Thai Women

INTRODUCTION

In this article we’re going to compare Vietnamese women to Thai women. This will allow you to make an informed decision if your goal is to date Vietnamese or Thai women. We’ll also compare the two countries along the way as well so that you have a good understanding of what to expect when choosing between the two.

So, make sure you read this guide from beginning to end because as someone who has spent a lot of time in each country, I believe I can put my experience to good use and help you decide which country is right for you.

VIETNAM VS THAILAND

Vietnam and Thailand are both located in Southeast Asia. For Americans or Canadians that aren’t familiar with this part of the world, it’s sort of like Mexico and Central America for us. Southeast Asia isn’t as rich as East Asia (Japan, South Korea), but they’re amazing countries for the low cost of living, friendly locals and feminine women.

I have spent a lot of time in Thailand, and have visited Vietnam once (although it was for an extended stay).
Thailand and Vietnam are both similar and different. First, the similarities: great climate, great food, friendly locals, lots of stores that sell cutting edge tech gadgets and, of course, beautiful women.

But there are also many differences. Thailand is a more touristy country compared to Vietnam. Thailand is also a much more well-known country with great infrastructure, nice coffee shops, fast internet and the whole “digital nomad scene” that isn’t as developed in Vietnam.
And then there are the women. Which country has the best women? Keep reading to find out.

LOOKS

Here’s where it gets interesting. While Thai and Vietnamese women are both very beautiful, I have to give this edge to Vietnamese women. Although not all Vietnamese women are strikingly beautiful (unlike in Ukraine), there are more strikingly beautiful Vietnamese women than there are strikingly beautiful Thai women.

Sure, Thai women are very pretty on average. But walking around the major Thai cities, it’s very rare to be blown away by a Thai woman’s beauty. However in Vietnam, you see lots of beauties in cities such as Hanoi or Saigon.

I’m going to award this round to Vietnamese women.

PERSONALITY

I like Thai women, and not just because they’re beautiful and know how to take care of their men. And that’s not all. Thai women have amazing personalities as well. In fact, I would even say that I like their personalities better than many of the western women. They’re just so gentle, friendly and open.

I know I have to pick a winner in this category, but honestly I found both Thai and Vietnamese friendliness just off the charts and so I have to give this round a tie.

LONG TERM POTENTIAL

Both Thai and Vietnamese women can be amazing long-term partners and even wives. They’re feminine, respectable, traditional and certainly know how to take care of their man. When I lived in Thailand and Vietnam, I met numerous men who met a Thai or Vietnamese woman, began dating and eventually settled down, got married and had kids together. They had nothing but good things to say about these women.

One note of caveat however: be sure to keep your eye out for women who want to meet foreigners and then milk them for all of their money. You definitely want to avoid those women because you’re all but assured to have problems down the road. It’s just not worth the hassle. You want a loving woman who loves you and doesn’t cause too much drama. That’s how you win in life.

I’m going to call this round a tie.

DO THEY LIKE FOREIGNERS?

Here’s the million dollar question. What do Vietnamese and Thai women think about foreigners. Well, this one is tricky. It’s a fact that you, as a westerner, will be viewed differently compared to local men. There’s no doubt about it.

It also doesn’t help that there’s a negative stigma attached to foreigners visiting or living in Thailand or Vietnam. This stigma is stronger in Thailand-owing to the country’s more populous expat population, but it still exists in Vietnam as well. And that’s the fact that westerners come to these countries for p2p or prostitution.

Certainly there are westerners that visit these countries for such purposes, but the majority of the visitors visit the countries for the same reasons people visit France or Japan; to check out a new country, try the exotic food and learn something new. Not everyone wants to hire hookers.
In Thailand, this stigma is particularly strong. Foreigners are labeled as “farangs” which has a negative connotation as a way to label a foreigner. I’m not sure if there’s a similar term in Vietnam, they probably have something similar.

Therefore, while you can certainly date Vietnamese and Thai women, just be aware that foreigners are viewed with suspicion in these countries. If that personally doesn’t bother you—and it shouldn’t—then you have the green light and do it, but just understand the rules of the game before you play.

As to whether the women love foreigners. They certainly do, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many foreigners traveling to Thailand or Vietnam to meet women.

Have fun, but remember to use protection.

FINAL THOUGHTS

So, there you have it, the complete guide to Thai and Vietnamese women. Having spent an extensive time in both of the respective countries, I have come to the conclusion that while these two countries have a ton of similarities, there are some important differences as well.

Thailand is pretty much synonymous with tourism, the whole digital nomad scene and a retiree destination. On the other hand, Vietnam is a relative newcomer to all this. It’s just now that Vietnam is slowly becoming the destination for these things as well, but it’s not there yet.

Still, it’s difficult to pick a true winner when it comes to deciding whether you should pursue Thai or Vietnamese women. In my opinion, Vietnamese women are prettier, although there are many stunners in Thailand, too.

Then there’s the fact that Vietnam has a lot more scams directed to foreigners, a lot more than Thailand. But then Thailand is overdone and is experiencing a sort of a ‘foreigner fatigue’ at the moment.

If none of the cons faze you and you just want to enjoy the pros, I’m more than confident you will find the place that best suits your interests.

Enjoy your trip.
